Toddler Class
Designed for children ages 18 to 30 months, the Toddler Class offers five full‑day and half‑day options that nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence while honoring each child’s individual pace of development.
The Walden Toddler Class supports the fastest period of growth in a child’s life with a joyful, loving, and intentionally prepared Montessori environment.
Through warm, consistent relationships and thoughtfully chosen materials, toddlers begin to build a lifelong love of learning.
Our classroom is a home away from home: child‑sized furniture and accessible materials allow our littlest learners to move, explore, and complete purposeful activities independently.
Daily experiences emphasize self-care, environmental care, gross- and fine-motor skill development, and rich language exposure. Activities are designed to promote concentration and independence, and to introduce simple, practical-life tasks. Sensory exploration and hands-on materials invite children to practice new skills and gain confidence.

Social and emotional growth is central to the program. Toddlers learn to interact with peers in a calm, orderly classroom where empathy, grace, and courtesy are modeled and practiced. Teachers provide gentle, insightful guidance to help children identify and verbalize feelings and needs, build relationships, and develop self‑regulation. Language development is supported through conversation, songs, stories, and meaningful one‑on‑one interactions.
Children spend one year in the Toddler Class and then transition directly into one of Walden’s Primary Classrooms the following school year. Our approach balances freedom and structure so each child can explore, succeed, and grow, guided by skilled teachers who observe, respond, and celebrate every step of the journey.

Our Toddler Class is limited to 12 students.
