Summer Program
Welcome to Walden's Summer Program 2025!
Our engaging camp experience is designed to ignite creativity, foster curiosity, and encourage exploration for children ages 3–10. This year we're thrilled to expand our offerings for children up to the fifth grade in addition to our beloved Montessori-based signature Summer Program!
Curriculum for our elementary-aged campers is designed to delve deeper into the weekly theme's content, providing a more immersive and advanced experience that enhances their understanding and engagement. For the upper elementary campers, ages 7-10, these advanced activities aim to challenge their curiosity, deepen their understanding of each theme, and develop skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
Program Details
Age Groups:
- Preschool: Ages 3–5
- Lower Elementary: Ages 5–6
- Upper Elementary: Ages 7–10
Eligibility:
- Must be age 3 by June 1, 2025.
- May not be older than 10 as of June 1, 2025.
Timing:
- Half-day: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Full-day: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Full-day with Extended Day: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Summer Program 2025's Weekly Themes
Week #1 Hawaiian Hullabaloo: June 16th - June 20th
Escape to a tropical paradise during our Hawaiian Hullabaloo Camp Week! Dive into the vibrant culture of Hawaii and other tropical islands with exciting activities like making leis, creating palm trees, and learning the art of hula dancing. Children will let their imaginations soar as they explore the rich traditions and folklore of the islands. Join us for a week filled with sunshine, laughter and unforgettable memories in our Island exploration camp week!
While younger campers explore Hawaiian culture through creative crafts and hula dancing, the older group will go beyond these activities to study landforms and design their own Island Oasis. This project will encourage critical thinking as campers incorporate elements such as topography, climate, and cultural landmarks, combining creativity with geographical knowledge.
Week # 2 Cosmic Chaos Week: June 23rd - June 27th
Get ready to embark on this out-of-the-world adventure during our Cosmic Chaos Camp Week. Blast off into the galaxy as we explore the mysteries of outer space through thrilling activities and projects. From creating their constellations to building a rocket ship, campers will have a chance to unleash their inner scientist. Dive into the wonders of the cosmos with art projects and experiments. Join us under the stars as we explore all our galaxy has to offer and beyond during our Cosmic Chaos Camp Week.
Younger campers will learn about space through crafts and simple science activities, but the older group will investigate the science behind space exploration. They will study force and motion and apply these concepts in building and launching a rocket ship, giving them hands-on experience with physics and engineering principles.
Week #3 Wild World of Sports: June 30th - July 4th *NOT CLOSED JULY 4
Experience the thrill of sportsmanship and the spirit of patriotism during our Wild World Of Sports Camp Week. Celebrate America’s birthday in style as campers enjoy an all sports extravaganza and practice teamwork, leadership and the true value of sportsmanship as we embrace the spirit of the Olympics. With our iconic Stars and Stripes as an inspiration, campers will showcase their teamwork as they engage in Olympic style relay races, and group activities along with patriotic crafts. Embrace the red, white and blue as we come together to honor the nation’s independence. Get in the game for a Stars and Stripes showdown and join us for a week filled with fun, friendship, and a whole lot of patriotic pride.
While the younger group enjoys sports-themed crafts and games, older campers will study the history of the Olympics, including its origins and evolution. They will then design and implement their own game, focusing on creativity, strategy, and teamwork, fostering leadership and planning skills.
Week #4 Dinosaurs Rock: July 7th - July 11th
Join us for an uproar at Dinosaurs Rock Camp Week. Dig deep into the prehistoric world and uncover the mysteries of these fascinating creatures. Kids will have a roaring good time as they learn about ancient times and understand the perils of dinosaurs from Triceratops to T-Rex through activities, crafts and interactive learning experiences. This jurassic journey will include a study of rocks and volcanoes and budding archaeologists will love digging deep as they uncover dinosaur bones. Calling all young dino enthusiasts…this is your chance to embark on an epic adventure through time in a week filled with roars, laughter and discovery
Younger campers will enjoy crafting and learning about dinosaurs, while the older group will work on a prehistoric timeline and research their favorite dinosaur. This deeper dive allows them to explore the scientific and historical context of the Mesozoic Era, encouraging research and presentation skills.
Week #5 Barnyard Palooza: July 14th - July 18th
Prepare to go country as we learn and celebrate everything on a farm in our vibrant Barnyard Palooza Camp Week. This lively week invites campers to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of farm life. Each day will bring a new adventure with activities celebrating barnyard animals and homegrown farm foods. We will immerse ourselves in everything country with bluegrass music, barnyard dance, and a hoe-down party.
We’re looking forward to a week filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories as we celebrate the charm of the country life together!
Younger campers will experience farm life through fun activities, while the older group will explore the science and economics of farming. They will study farming techniques, sustainability, and how modern agriculture impacts our world, providing an advanced perspective on the week's theme.
Week #6 Color My World: July 21st - July 25th
Unleash your creativity and explore the art world at our Color My World Camp Week. Whether you are a budding artist or just love to experiment with colors, textures and mediums, this week will give you artistic inspiration. Each day is packed with exciting projects and activities that will spark your imagination further develop your artistic skill. Campers will have a chance to showcase their creations and masterpieces in an Art Showcase at the end of the week. Make new friends, learn new techniques, and discover the artist within you—don't miss out on this unforgettable creative adventure!
While the younger group creates art projects, the older group will experiment with advanced artistic techniques like tie-dye methods and photography. These activities introduce them to color theory, visual storytelling, and the technical aspects of art, culminating in their contributions to the end-of-week Art Showcase.
Week #7 Bugging Out: July 28th - August 1st
Discover the amazing world of nature and explore the fascinating creatures and vibrant gardens around us in a perfect adventure for young nature lovers during our Bugging Out Camp Week. Campers will spend the week discovering the secrets of gardens, observing insects in their natural habitats, and getting hands-on with planting, growing, and bug-catching activities. From building your own mini garden to learning about the tiny, buzzing insects that help our ecosystems thrive, this camp is packed with exciting outdoor fun. We'll also learn about the important role plants and bugs play in our environment through interactive games, nature walks, and craft projects! Whether you’re a budding gardener or a curious bug enthusiast, this week will inspire a lifelong love of nature. Don’t miss out on this eco-friendly adventure and a chance to get down and dirty with the outdoors.
Younger campers will explore the world of bugs and gardens, while the older group will focus on sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Activities might include building eco-systems, experimenting with composting, and studying the interdependence of plants and insects, fostering environmental awareness and responsibility.
Week #8 Under the Boardwalk: August 4th - August 8th
Get ready for a week of sun, sand, and sea as we explore the wonders of the beach and ocean during our Under the Boardwalk Camp Week. This exciting week will take campers on a thrilling adventure to discover the incredible ecosystems beneath the waves, along the shoreline, and even under the boardwalk. Kids will learn about the diverse creatures and plants that call the Wetlands home and gain a deeper appreciation for marine life and the importance of ocean conservation. We'll also dive into fun science experiments, ocean art projects, and games that celebrate our planet’s blue heart—the ocean! We will also adventure with pirates and mermaids in an awesome treasure hunt. Perfect for young explorers, this week promises unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to the natural world.
While younger campers engage in beach-themed crafts and activities, the older group will take their exploration a step further by participating in Geo-Caching and Letterboxing, integrating technology, navigation, and problem-solving into their learning. They will also engage in deeper discussions about marine conservation and the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems.
